Hi, I’m Jo, founder of Leading The Way Pet Services—a small, family-run business based in Ruskington, near Sleaford.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life. Over the years, I’ve cared for a wide range of pets, including dogs, cats, chickens, ferrets, rabbits, and guinea pigs, to name just a few. My passion for animal care truly grew during my time volunteering at a wildlife rescue centre near Stafford, where I spent around four years helping to rehabilitate British wildlife.

During that time, I worked closely with a variety of animals including birds of prey, hedgehogs, badgers, foxes, pheasants, deer, ducks, stoats, and garden birds. I also helped care for unwanted and rescued pets such as rabbits, ferrets, aviary birds, rats, chipmunks—and even a pig! I’ve also had the rewarding experience of hand-rearing hedgehogs, birds, squirrels, and other small mammals.

After moving on from Stafford, I became a self-employed dog walker, which further strengthened my love for working outdoors with animals. Following my move to Ruskington, I decided to take the next step and establish my own business. I genuinely enjoy being outside in all weathers—and having a dog or two by my side makes it all the more fulfilling.

At home, I’m kept busy by my own little crew: Red my Border Collie, seven cats, and five guinea pigs—so it’s safe to say animals are at the heart of everything I do.
